Privacy policy

Ta voie, tes choix is a free directory of career guidance, training, employment and recognition of acquired competencies (RAC) services in Québec. This policy explains, in plain terms, what information is collected when you use the site, why, and what your rights are, under Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.
Who is responsible
The site is operated by the regional roundtables on academic and career guidance that are partners of Ta voie, tes choix.

What we don’t collect
You can use the whole site without creating an account and without giving us your name or address. The site has no forms, sells no information and shows no advertising.
Your location (“Near me”)
If you use “Near me” and allow it in your browser, your location is used only on your device, to sort organizations from nearest to farthest. It is not sent to our servers and not stored. If you enter a postal code instead, only its first three characters are used, also on your device.
Third-party services
Some features rely on Google services, which then receive your IP address and technical information about your browser, under their own terms:
- Google Maps shows the map of the organization directory;
- YouTube plays the videos in privacy-enhanced mode: nothing is loaded until you start a video.

Cookies
The site uses cookies needed for it to work, for example to remember your language (French or English) and your choice about statistics.
To see how the site is used and improve it, we use Google Analytics (pages viewed, visit length, device type, approximate region). No advertising is shown and this data is not used to identify you. Google Analytics cookies are only turned on if you click “Accept” in the banner; if you decline or don’t answer, Google only receives anonymous signals, without cookies. Your choice is kept for six months. You can change it at any time with the “Cookies” link at the bottom of every page.
Technical logs
Like any website, our servers automatically record technical data (IP address, pages viewed, date and time, browser type) to keep the site secure and working. These logs are kept for a limited time, then deleted.
Organization listings
Listings show information provided or published by the organizations themselves (address, phone, email, website), sometimes the name of a contact person in their professional capacity. To have information corrected or removed, write to tavoieteschoix@gmail.com.
Directory managers
People who keep the directory up to date have an account in a restricted administration panel. We keep their name, email, the history of their changes and login data (IP address, browser), to secure access and be able to fix mistakes. This information is not published.
Your rights
You may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to withdraw a consent you gave. Write to us at tavoieteschoix@gmail.com; we answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), access to administration is password-protected and limited to authorized people, and data is backed up regularly.
Changes
We may update this policy, for example when new features are added. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
